Flirting With Desperation [Open]

Vanora's breath hitched in her throat as she shot through the undergrowth, nothing more than a blur to any on-lookers. She had never ran so hard, or pushed herself so far when it came to her abilities and she knew that she had strained herself. Her ankle already stung from where the guard had tasered her earlier, her hair was plastered to her face and there was a fine sheen of sweat on her skin. It had been several hours since she had torn a strip of fabric off her shirt and used it to messily hold her hair up and several strands had escaped to frame her eyes.

Fatigue clawed at her like a wild animal and as a gasp escaped her lips, Vanora finally skidded to a halt... only to have her shoelace come under her other foot and come crashing gracelessly to the ground. A few seconds passed and she tiredly rolled over onto her back, her eyes drooping as she looked up at the overhanging canopy. Specks clouded her vision and mustering up all of her strength, Vanora sat up, her eyes darting about the clearing as she heard something rustle.

Greed skid across the dirt, practically sliding the soles of his shoes across the loose dirt and leaves as he shot through the dense forest. Soon enough he came across a female experiment sitting up on the ground, he stopped a few meters off, looking at her with a puzzled look. "Err, are you okay?" he asked her, a tad hint of worry in his tone.

Vanora let her eyes study the other person for a few seconds, contemplating whether to let her guard down or not. The shard of metal was still tucked safely into her pocket and her lips curled distastefully as she glared at him. "Obviously not." She said bitingly as she pushed her baseball cap off her head and set it aside, all the while looking at the other somewhat warily.

Greed hesitantly walked forward, kneeling down next to her. "Don't worry, okay? I'm going to try to help, but I need to know where it hurts." he told her.

Vanora was tempted to laugh as he told her not to worry and barely suppressed another biting remark. Tired and annoyed as she was, she could hardly push aside the worry that she might be caught and being tasered again was hardly what she had in mind. "Everywhere." She muttered with a smirk, half joking, half serious.

Greed sighed, closing his eyes and clasping his hands together. Tiny sparks of energy illuminated his hands as he placed them firmly on her shoulders. Gradually all damage to her body was beginning to heal as he used transmutation to do so.

Vanora's eyes widened in amazement as she stared down at the boy's hands, a fascinated little smile curving her lips upwards as an unfamiliar sensation ran through her body. Lightly brushing his hand aside, she tentatively reached down to her ankle to prod the spot which had been stinging for some time now. However, Vanora couldn't suppress an amazed gasp as she felt no pain and looked up at the boy. "Wow, that was amazing." She breathed with a smile. "Thank you."

Greed smiled in return, standing up as he extended a hand to help her do so as well. "It's nothing, really." he told her.

Vanora's hand closed around his and she stood up before letting her arm fall to her side. "It sure is. Which experiment are you?" She asked, raising her eyebrows inquisitively as she spared him a glance before gazing absentmindedly around the clearing.

Greed was a bit surprised that she knew what experiments were but he then realized that she was likely an experiment herself. "I am Experiment number Zero-Zero-One. But you may call me Greed." he said with a smile.

Vanora stopped in the middle of surveying the clearing to look at him, a small smile playing on her lips as she tilted her head to the right. "Why Greed?" She asked curiously before adding. "I'm Vanora."

Greed sighed, closing his eyes. "Ehh, take a wild guess..." he told her, smirking slightly. He opened his hand, inside it a quarter he had pick-pocketed from the girl. "Sorry, I can't help myself sometimes." he told her, tossing the quarter towards her.

Vanora stared at him in slight amazement before before she burst out laughing. She caught the quarter before stowing it into her pocket, an amused smile still playing on her lips as she gazed at him. "What other tricks have you got up your sleeve?"

Greed shrugged, he was extremely cocky a lot of times, his one weakness, though he tried to hide it. "Well, I'm kind of immortal in a way..." he told her, shrugging once more.

"Kind of?" Vanora asked with raised eyebrows as she grinned, but her curiosity was barely sated. "What else?"

"I can regenerate and I can harden my skin by manipulating the carbon in my skin." he told her, rearranging the carbon level in his arm as it near instantly hardened into a material tougher than titanium.

"That is insane." Vanora said with a grin.

Greed smiled back at her, his skin turning back to normal. "So, what were you doing when you got hurt?" he asked her curiously.

"Literally?" Vanora said aloud with raised eyebrows. "I was looking the other way." She said with a somewhat strained smile. "But at length, I was escaping. Along with two other experiments. Don't know where they are anymore."

Greed shrugged looking around. "Well, you're going the wrong way." he told her, pointing in the direction where she had been going. "In that direction there's nothing but the coast." he then pointed some-what in the Northern area. "There's a small town that way if you need somewhere to stay."
