Background and RP Sample

History/Background: James lived in the ghettos of New York with a rather poor family. He never knew his father, only his mother and dear sister. When he was young his mother found a horrible man to act as their stepfather. He was rude, crude, and abused them all frequently. James put up with the disgusting beast beating his mother until he became a young man. Finally he could take no more and murdered his stepfather one night. While he was sleeping, eh stole the gun from his closet and shot him, muffled by a pillow. He did it quickly and cleanly, disposing of the body as swiftly as the man had died. When finished, James heard nothign from police. Even his own fmaily simply eblieved the man disappeared on one of his long nights drinking.

James had realized that he felt no remorse or sadness for hwat he had done. Inf act, it felt slightly empowering to take the life of another. HE realized also that many people were payed in the underground world of crime for taking the life of another in secret. His family coudl also use the money veyr badly... H began working for small gangs and petty thugs, taking out rivals members. As he earned money, he was able tot ake care of his family, telling them he got a part time job. Eventually, he moved his way up until he was workign for one of the most fearsome crime bosses in New York. He was able to support his family, while even buying a few luxury items for himself.

James grew up and moved out of the house, while remaining an extremly succesfull assasin at such a young age. He told his family he had become a businessman in California, while he secretly was given contracts by all kidns who wished to have others elimnated; He ws the best of the best. Until that day...

RP Sample:Tekkarro trudged onward through the cruel heat of the blazing desert. The sun gazed down upon him without mercy, as the harsh winds of the day blew sand against him. Many of the grains found their way uncomfortably into his gi, and he cursed silently under his breath. He had been traveling for many days, and his gourd at his hip had long ago run dry. He was now very tired, parched, and hungry. He only wished for a simple rest, and he hoped that he would very soon stumble upon any plot of civilization. Be it a small town or a large city, he merely wished for a brief reprieve. He had attempted to cut open several cacti with his sword, but he only found that they too were as barren and scorched as his own throat. He pushed himself onward even farther, motivating himself with the subtle irony it would be if a Fire Bender were to die of heat. This enticed a small chuckle form his burnt throat as he continued on his way.

He had all but given up hope when a heavenly sight was viewed before him. He had glimpsed the legendary walls of Ba Sing Sey above the sandy dunes of this wasteland. He found it ironic that after so many years after he had heard of his father's demise int his city, he would finally come to visit it in peace. He picked up his pace as another token of good luck struck him, a small path to his side that he had not noticed until now. He gratefully began to tread along this slightly more worn path, as he had feared his ragged sandals would have broken long ago. He began a much easier journey along this path when he heard a sound that he had not yet noticed for many days now in this screeching winds of the desert: footsteps. He turned around slowly to see before him three rather ragged looking men. They each had very scruffy hair, equipped with torn clothing and rather dingy looking armor. They each had upon their hip a wicked looking dagger, and he immediately recognized them for what they were, highwaymen. He was thankful for them to only be simple thieves, nothing he had to worry about.

What seemed to be the leader of the thieves stepped forward. He had a mop of brown hair upon his head, coated with sand, the dirt in his hair matching his brown eyes. He smiled a crroked grin, while the man could not have been older then his mid twenties. He gripped his knife eagerly, as if he was just waiting for an excuse to use it. "Well," he muttered, eyeing Tekkarro hungrily, "Looks like you've traveled pretty far stranger. Fire Nation scum arn't welcome here sadly."

"I have done nothing wrong to you sir, I have no quarrel with either of your friends as well." Tekkarro stated, trying to turn back around. The man gripped him by the wrist and turned him around to face him, drawing his knife and pointing it towards his throat.

"We lost plenty of people in the war stranger, so you are as much to blame as the rest of those disgusting beasts. But, if you were to part with your coin perhaps, we'd be willing to ignore you walking through.." he threatened Tekkarro, attempting to obtain what little money he had.

"I apologize sir, but I have very litte coin. And thatw hich I do posess I am not willing to hand over to the likes of you." Tekkarro stated without the lsightest trace of emotion. he knew to keep calm was the best thing to do in a confrontation. The thief simply frowned and shook his head, lifting his kinfe back, preparing to strike.

"Then I do not see a reason to let you through, let alone live." he snickered, as he two comrades gathered at either side of Tekkarro, also readying their knives. Tekkarro saw this and simply sighed. He twisted his arm awkwardly, as to cause the man gripping him to remove his fingers from him. As the man to his left reacted first by charging at him, Tekkarro directed a strong punch to the man's solar plexus, knocking all wind out of him and sending him tumbling to the ground. The second attempted to sneak up behind him, but Tekkarro turned the tables on him by swiftly turning around placing a stiff fist straight to the man's bridge of his nose. With a loud snap, they realized it was broken, and the man also fell unconcious. Tekkarro turned finally to face the last man, the one who was considered their leader. He had a look of anger and fear mixed in his eyes, and Tekkaro stepped forward with a kick, sending him sprawling out into the sand. As Tekkarro kicked away the knife form the man's hand, the man snarled at him.

" Who do you think you are?" he shouted loudly. Tekkarro simply raiused his hands, circling them as he allowed the fire to gather in his fists, reflecting the fear int he man's now widened eyes.

"I am Tekkarro Setzu, Fire Bender. And I am your final mistake." he stated once again emotinlessly, as he sent a blaze towards the man's face.

Tekkarro continued to trudge forward toward Ba Sing Sey. He was shocked that so much prejudice could still be found towards his people., but he learned it was something he had to deal with. Their were the dishonorable and dishonest all around, no matter where you look. The highwaymen were simply the latest in a long strain of those who wished to do Tekkarro harm. But he knew that as long as he survived, he would be there to set them straight, and keep them from harming another innocent.
